Wiz-Tec announces deal to install new ADR (Automated Data Retrieval)
System for the NSIFTE
(Nova Scotia Indian Fuel Tax Exemption) Program.
Calgary, Alberta, May 1st, 04 – Wiz-Tec Computing Technologies
Inc. announced today that the Provincial Government of
Nova Scotia has chosen Wiz-Tec’s ADR software solution for its communication
needs in conjunction with the NSIFTE
Program. Wiz-Tec expects to focus more of its business efforts on Indian
tax exemption programs in future, and the Nova
Scotia Government, in partner with the First Nations members in its province,
is a key customer in Wiz-Tec’s efforts to
build out the software services they offer. There is a high degree of
interest in Wiz-Tec tax exemption programs, and the
response from the First Nations communities has been very positive.
Nova Scotia, and specifically the people working for the government in
the SNSMR (Service Nova Scotia Municipal
Relations) department are forward thinking, and very hardworking individuals
who see the benefits capable of being
achieved with Wiz-Tec technologies. They are doing a great job for the
tax-payers of their province, and the First Nations
members, comments Wiz-Tec’s VP of Operations and Director of Corporate
Development, William Macdonell.
Wiz-Tec Computing Technologies Inc. was founded in 1990, and its corporate
head office is based out of Calgary,
Alberta, Canada. In 1992, Wiz-Tec was already involved in POS projects,
when it realized that significant components
of the Retail Gas Industries POS (Point of Sale) product were lacking
components that were crucial to the ability of the
retailer to run their business effectively. So Wiz-Tec began building
the necessary modules required to provide a 100%
solution.
Since that time Wiz-Tec has sold its software, directly and through dealers,
to over 1500 sites in Canada and the US, as
well as developed new, more sophisticated software with applications in
Government, Fleet card, and Small Business
environments. We have customers that do not even know they run our software.
Today, Wiz-Tec is working hard towards quickly becoming a major player
in the Canadian claims industry, as well as
creating economical, easy to deploy solutions for Fleet card and loyalty
based retail programs. Wiz-Tec’s greatest efforts
are centered around innovative applications for existing technologies
in order to breath new life into them, while creating
cost effective solutions for our customers, both new and old.
Wiz-Tec maintains over 1.5 million lines of source code in over 20 software
products, some of which are as popular
today as the day they were released
